Questo blog nasce come progetto di laurea triennale e con l’intento di far conoscere un mondo fino ad oggi sconosciuto ai più, sfatandone i miti e le leggende comuni: la cultura gitana.
Un mondo pieno di misticismo e magia, dove il fascino e la sensualità dei canti e dei balli tipici si fondono con quell’aura di mistero che questo popolo porta con sé dalla notte dei tempi. Un popolo perseguitato, sempre in fuga, alla costante ricerca della Terra Promessa che attualmente sta tentando, attraverso numerose organizzazioni anche a livello europeo, di liberarsi di quella maschera che la comunità gli ha cucito addosso grazie alla discriminazione.
La paura per il diverso ha contribuito alla trasformazione di questo popolo che vanta una cultura, soprattutto artistica, a trecentosessanta gradi, degna di rilievo.
Infatti, la maggior parte dei gitani svolge professioni soprattutto in ambito circense e musicale.
Molti autori hanno scritto opere relative ai gitani, in particolare F. G. Lorca, (vd. “Romancero Gitano”) nel quale manifesta la sua simpatia verso questo popolo, ma soprattutto la sofferenza, la discriminazione e…la solitudine.
